Mobile flood barriers will help protect people. Property and infrastructure across South Lanarkshire.

“Chair of South Lanarkshire Council Community and Enterprise Committee Councillor John Anderson said: “We have invested £40,000 to add this portable barrier system to our flood management resources and this trial run shows it will provide effective protection to help reduce the risk of damage and disruption caused by flooding.”

The Floodstop barrier is a robust and effective flood defence system which can be assembled to any length and orientation by connecting 1m long modular units using weighted keys.

In use the majority of the modular units fill with the rising floodwater, which combined with the weighted keys and hard-wearing gasket seals, ensures the flood barrier is effective in holding back floodwaters.
