FLOODSTOP Flood Barrier & Prevention Case Studies
Customer: Environment Agency
Location: Sandwich Quay, Kent
Product: 0.5m FLOODSTOP barrier
The Environment Agency procured 180 metres of the FLOODSTOP flood barrier to protect Sandwich Quay in Kent. The barrier has been implemented to reduce flood risk and protect a significant number of properties until permanent defences are built in 2013.
FLOODSTOP has already been deployed as flood defences by The Environment Agency on several occasions – staggeringly, 180 metres can be deployed and assembled in 90 minutes!

Customer: The Pulfords
Location: Worcestershire
Product: 0.5m FLOODSTOP barrier
The Pulfords live in Worcestershire, at a location where heavy rainfall can cause the nearby brook to burst its banks, flooding local homes and villages. Flood defences are, therefore, essential.
Their home is among 2.4 million properties in England that the Environment Agency believes are at risk from flooding and in need of flood protection.
“We discovered that FLOODSTOP barriers are a fraction of the cost of alternative flood prevention products on the market. Knowing we have effective protection from the threat of flooding is a great weight off our minds. They are easy and simple to use and when the job is done they can be simply picked up and put back in the garage.”

Customer: The National Trust
Location: Brownsea Island, Dorset
Product: 0.5m FLOODSTOP barrier
Angela Cott, National Trust Property Manager at Brownsea Island said:
“We are delighted that we now have an easy to deploy flood prevention system on the island. It will allow us to protect our newly refurbished reception when we have exceptionally high tides. We were completely fed up with deploying sandbags in the past. The barrier was in action today [Sept 2010] and prevented flooding of the walkway and reception. It’s fantastic.”
